EMDR

Attachment-Focused EMDR, certified through the Parnell Institute and EMDRIA. An evidence-based approach to healing trauma the body/mind is still clutching on to.

For thousands of years of human history, we have used bilateral stimulation, such as drumming, as part of healing ceremonies. EMDR taps into your innate ability to heal using bilateral stimulation, activating the left and right hemispheres of your brain. The processing can lead to the release of trauma in your body, mind, and spirit, and the emergence and integration of new understanding, a felt sense of relief in the body, and emotional regulation.

I completed my Attachment-Focused EMDR training through the Parnell Institute, and I'm certified through both the Parnell Institute and EMDRIA.

In addition to the treatment of PTSD, EMDR is a somatic intervention for the psychological effects of smaller traumas that manifest as depression, anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem, creativity blocks, and relationship difficulties.

Healing often occurs more rapidly than in traditional talk therapy. And as a result of EMDR's clearing of emotional and physical blockages, many people also experience a sense of joy, openness, and deeper connection with others. This work is especially suited to developmental and attachment trauma, single-incident trauma, and trauma held by first responders and any emergency front line persons.
