Transpersonal Work

Therapy can hold so much more than the clinical. It can hold the spiritual, too, including Spiritual Emergence and Spiritual Emergencies originating from psychedelic trauma or spontaneously.

All over the globe, and for thousands of years before us, people have used many methods to expand human consciousness and access the deep folds of the unconscious psyche and heart center while staying present in the body, from Indian Yoga and yogic breathing, to Tibetan Tantra, to Eastern and Western monastic and householder practices of noble silence, vocal meditation, and Vipassana meditation in its many postures. Ancient and contemporary indigenous cultures have explored states of consciousness through shamanic drumming, chanting, dance, initiation ceremonies, vision quests, and communing with nature, among many other paths.

A mushroom emerging from the forest floor
A single mushroom is evidence of a much larger network working unseen beneath it, much like the psyche.

Such transpersonal states have the potential to get beneath the stealth forms of ego, arriving at more expanded states of mind and psyche, body, spirit, relationships, and environment. This includes spiritual emergence and Kundalini risings, which can feel destabilizing without a therapist who recognizes them as meaningful rather than pathological. This is liminal territory, the sublime and the unfamiliar held together, and it calls for the same grounded presence and mindfulness that anchors the rest of our work, staying with what's here, in the present moment, rather than getting swept into the story of it. In our work together, it's possible to draw on some of these practices for grounding, and to help soften the grip of symptoms resulting from unresolved trauma, fear of death, or fear of life, and to cultivate more compassion, peace, joy, and abundance in your life and for those around you.

On Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) & Psychedelic Integration

I offer KAP as a modality for deeper self-exploration and for those struggling with treatment-resistant depression, and I work with clients on psychedelic integration and psychedelic trauma more broadly. I received my KAP certification from PRATI. As a licensed professional, I cannot serve as a facilitator using any illegal substances, nor do I endorse or provide referrals for any such illegal activity. I do, however, work with clients who have sought out such healing practices for deeper awareness and expansion on their own. Together we create a space where your innate healing intelligence can move you toward healing and integration, anchoring the insight gained from such experiences.
